TPHA

The TPHA test is a confirmatory blood test used to detect syphilis, a sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum. It identifies specific antibodies in the blood that are produced in response to the infection. TPHA is usually performed after a positive VDRL or RPR test, as it provides more specific and reliable results.
