The Proteins & A/G Ratio test is a blood test that measures total protein levels, including the two major components: albumin and globulin. Albumin helps maintain blood volume and pressure, while globulins play a key role in immune function. The test also calculates the Albumin/Globulin (A/G) ratio, which compares the levels of these proteins to evaluate liver function, kidney function, and the overall immune response. A normal A/G ratio is typically slightly over 1.0. Abnormal results may indicate liver disease, kidney disorders, infections, or autoimmune conditions.
