CA 125

CA 125 Test is a blood test that evaluates the amount of Cancer Antigen 125 (CA 125), a protein often found in higher levels in the blood of individuals with ovarian cancer. While elevated CA 125 levels can indicate ovarian cancer, they may also occur due to other conditions such as endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), or even during menstruation. This test is frequently used to monitor treatment progress in ovarian cancer patients or to detect cancer recurrence. For accurate diagnosis, the CA 125 test is typically combined with imaging tests and other clinical evaluations. Regular monitoring is recommended for women at high risk of ovarian cancer.
